2015 - Eastern Europe Day 18 (Prague)

Breakfast is included at this hotel (1. Republic), so we decided to check it out and to my surprise, it was a lot bigger than expected. There were several types of cheese, breads, a sweet bread area, various yogurts, juices, fresh fruits, veggies, meat spread, several types of cereal, grilled veggies, couscous, spam, bacon, wieners, sliced meats, tea, coffee, cappuccino, espresso, hard boiled eggs, scrambled and also sunny side up eggs and even sparkling wine! A very nice surprise as this breakfast was actually included with our room.

After breakfast, we did our online check in for our flight tomorrow and then we headed off to send postcards and headed to the Prague Castle and made it just in time for the changing of the guard. This was pretty long because there is a break in between where I believe the guards are actually circling the castle grounds, and during this break, nothing happens and you just watch and wonder if it ended or not. There is a live band there with live music which was neat, although you can't really see them since they are on a balcony above you. Overall, it was okay to see, but I don't think you are missing much if you do miss out.

Initially we were going to see what was worth visiting at Prague Castle, but again, with how the pass works, you needed to pay for better passes to see just one building. For some reason, I can't just see the church, so in the end, we opted not to visit anything and just wandered the grounds a bit and left. The grounds are free to walk and visit and since it is above the city, you do get a nice view of the surrounding area. All in all, we finished at 2:00pm and went in search of a McDonald's but the signs here were terrible and we couldn't find it, so we ended up going back to the main square area and went there instead and I got my Mario toy.

Yes, this is an art sculpture of two men peeing.
The girls wandered a bit after McDonald's while I waited for them and we ended up at Nagrilu for an early dinner at 5:30pm. I got the kofola which is their local coke, and it tasted like a peppery coke, sort of like a Dr. Pepper. The food was good, although the portion isn't very big. We ended up staying at the restaurant for quite awhile with the girls chatting and me playing on my phone and we left at 8:00pm.

Not a beer...
Grilled chicken thighs on the left and wings on the right.
With this, we finish our trip since we need to leave our hotel for our flight out tomorrow at 7:15am.

Tomorrow, we head to the airport and fly home back to Toronto.
