2017 - California Day 6 (Tulare)

Thursday, September 14, 2017. Today, we leave the Los Angeles area and head to Tulare, which will be our one night stay before we head to Sequoia National Park.

The only thing in the schedule is to stop at Outlets at Tejon. We made it to the Outlets by 12:15pm where we had lunch at In-N-Out Burgers which cost us $10. The menu is surprisingly simple (even less choice than Five Guys) and the food was surprisingly okay. $10 got us two burgers, fries, and a drink.

Super Target?
The outlet mall was a bit disappointing, not much here to wander or buy due to the lack of deals going on right now. But it is an interesting drive. From Los Angeles, it is a city with buildings and sidewalks. It changes to desert where there is nothing but brown sand as far as the eye can see (and the road that we are travelling on). And suddenly, boom, there's this outlet mall in the middle of the desert.

After we finished the outlet mall, we continued our drive to Tulare and it made it to our hotel, Quality Inn which was surprisingly okay. Dinner was at Bravo Farms which is a fairly popular restaurant. We ordered two sandwiches which were surprisingly good. We did see that a lot of people ordered salads which looked delicious but was too late.

At the hotel, we were told to visit the local fair and where to get discounted tickets at the local Walgreens and we paid them a visit. We spent about an hour there and it was basically a smaller version of the local CNE but with lots of animals and competitions that we missed out on (tractor pulls and monster trucks).

Tomorrow, we leave Tulare to being our National Park visits starting with Sequoia National Park.
